Planetary type stranding machine general information

The planetary type stranding machine is the important equipment for stranding wires and cables. This type is mainly used for copper multiwire conductor, aluminum multiwire conductor, steel multiwire conductor, aluminum multiwire conductor with steel core.

This type of equipment is called planetary, because the machine has the core unscrewing mechanism with a gear movement around a central fixed gear wheel, that resemble the movement of planets around the sun.

The core unscrewing mechanism ensures a constant horizontal arrangement of pay-off coils axes, and thus the absence of axial twisting of each core in the strand. Cores strands are smooth and don’t tend to twist into a loop.

The central core passes through the central axial hole of the first cage. Workpieces, that located in cages are traversed from the coils with constant tension.

Workpieces pass through the cage individual bandwidth channels system and exit through holes of the outside separator. The central workpiece in the center, and 12 workpiece (wires) from the 12V cage are overlapped around it.

Cores are crimped in the die, where stranding process occurs due to the cage rotation. Through this process, the first lay (1+12) is made. After passing the next 18B cage, 18 workpiece (wires) will be applied to 1+12 lay (wires) in a similar way. The stranding algorithm of different cores structure is identical.
