Drum-twister type stranding machines general information.

Drum-twister type stranding machine is designed for stranding insulated and bare multi-wire cores. With the help of a Drum-twister, a high / medium / low voltage power cable is manufactured, these cables have round and sectoral structures of large wire section and lengths.

The special feature of the Drum-twister stranding line is that pay-off devices rotate pay-off drums around the line axis, making unscrewing/twisting of pay-off cores.

There are three operation modes for recoil devices:

The sector position detector is a degree control system for each sector-shaped conductor. Each detector is located on an individual prop after the pay-off device.

The core is stretched through the inlet of the machine and clamped by rolls. The detector reads off the core degree and transmits a signal to the pay-off machine, which changes its position (horizontal degree) by lining up the pay-off drum (core) to the correct angle of the tool - die inlet.

The core stranding occurs in the tool - die. After stranding, it is possible to apply (wrap) tape, apply armoring tape, wire armor.

The rotation of the caterpillar draft device is synchronous with the rotation of the take-up device. The configuration provides for both separate draft drives and the take-up device, as well as lockstep synchronization by using the shaft with the common motor.

The take-up device is made on the basis of the pay-off device, witch has the rotation in the support bearing.
