Double stranding machines general information
Double stranding machines are high-speed devices for stranding copper or aluminum wires in a strand (bunch). The alternative name of the strand is "litz wire", therefore the common name "litz wire type (multifilament wire lager)".

The workpiece, in the form of 2 or more cores (wires), is given from spools or coils, enters the machine, where stranding and taking-up operations onto the coil are taken place. A special feature of the design is that cores stranding happens in the support units of the stranding mechanism.
The first stranding is carried out in the support unit at the input, then the workpiece passes along the inner side of the stranding curve and enters the second support unit, where the second stranding is happened. The curves are made of flexible metal alloy or carbon fiber. The stranding mechanism has two curves, and workpiece is passing through the main one and a balancing curve.

The machine design provides high-speed stranding due to the fact that two stranding operations are happened in one rotation of the curve. As a result, when frequency rotating is 2000 rpm, the machine produces 4000 strands/min. Monitoring and control is carried out through an industrial PLC controller and a touchpanel. Model range of 500 / 630 / 800 / 1000 machines have a similar compact design in the form of a block with an integrated control cabinet. Depending on the model, the block length is from 2.5 to 3.5 meters, width from 1 to 1.9 meters, height from 1.1 to 2 meters.
Multifilament wire lager can be equipped with various types of pay-off devices. The most common pay-off devices:
